Workshop Series OCT – Jessica & Somer from Estonia

20 October @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

R250

Dear tango friends, We are excited to welcome Jessica and Somer from Estonia this October.

They will be visiting our beautify city on holiday and have kindly offered to share their tango with the local community through a four-workshop series at accessible local rates.

Their approach is rooted in connection, musicality, elegant movement and improvisation, offering fresh perspectives and practical ideas for the social dance floor.

💃🏼Workshop topics:
– WS1 – Milonga: Finding the playful groove with the partner through the weight shift. Alternating between strong beats and double times.
– WS2 – Playing with systems: How to navigate between parallel and cross systems by focusing on shifting or skipping the weight shift for the leader or the follower.
– WS3 – Applying entradas within the code of tango: How to use the code of giro to find the right positions for the displacements during the turns.
– WS4 – Compact movement for the social floor in close position: Focusing on moving circular and staying close to our partners as we navigate the dance floor considering the flow of the Ronda.

Each workshop includes 1 hour 15 minutes of teaching, followed by a 45-minute guided práctica.
